Knitted Purse/Backpack
Use a worsted weight yarn and circular needle to knit this purse/backpack. The ingenious top closure makes for an outstanding finished bag. This is a great place to practice stranded knitting, or, if you like a solid color, follow the charted directions for a textured knit/purl design. Either way you will enjoy knitting this bag and learning some new techniques.
Yarn: Worsted weight wool yarn that knits to a gauge of 4.5 sts/in. Solid color purse or backpack uses 675 yards. The 2-color purse or backpack, uses 450 yards for Main Color and 250 yards for Contrast Color.
Needles: 24" long circular needle in size needed to obtain gauge of 5.5 sts/inch. This is usually one or two sizes smaller than the needle size recommended on the yarn band. Double point needles in same size.
Finished measurements: approximately 13.5" wide and 11" tall
